Equipped with a faster dual-core A5 chip, an 8MP camera with all-new optics supporting to shoots 1080p HD video as well as the new Sari, The Apple iPhone 4S remains one of the most popular smartphones on the market. It's the most amazing iPhone yet, even though it retains the exterior design of its predecessor, its hardware specifications and software performances have really been improved. But today we will ignore its high quality configuration and focus on its multimedia function.

Despite increasingly impressive competition, particularly from manufacturers like HTC and Samsung, which have recently released their latest flagship Android models. One of the strengths of the iPhone is multimedia. In this article I will look at why these features help to make the iPhone 4S one of the best multimedia devices out there.

iTunes
iTunes is Apple’s multimedia download service, where users can browse and download a multitude of multimedia products of different formats. This includes millions of music tracks, films and TV series as well as podcasts etc. The iPhone 4S comes with a preinstalled iTunes app, where users can download music and films directly to the handset.

iPod
The iPhone 4S comes with an iPod function pre-installed, which seamlessly integrates with your music collection, whether it is tracks that you have transferred from your computer using iTunes, or music which has been downloaded using the service. It has the same user interface as an iPod touch, and comes with cover flow which displays your music using album art, which looks great and also serves the function of making it easy and intuitive to browse through your tracks and albums. Audio quality is pretty satisfactory.

AppStore
The iPhone 4S uses the AppStore, which is widely regarded as the best application download service out there.  the apps are better quality and that it offers more choice than competing services like Google Play and Windows Phone marketplace which offers a similar service for Android and Windows phone devices respectively. so whether you are looking for apps for work or play, there is sure to be something to suit your needs.

Video playback
3.5” IPS display may not be the super-sized one to make it easier for us to watch high-def videos on a significantly larger display on the iPhone, but In fact, videos play swimmingly with no pause or slowdown during its playback in iPhone 4S, plus, they’re filled with plenty of magnificent details to make the experience gratifying. So now taking the videos’s high quality and the smooth playback into consideration, iPhone 4s can be excellent. Video enjoyment on iPhone 4S will be great. For example, if you have stored lots of MKV or HD MKV files on your computer, to make them playable on iPhone 4S can enrich your digital life definitely. However, there is a hassle that you can not stream MKV to iPhone 4S by default. Then in this situation you must resort to a third part MKV to iPhone 4S Converter. After converting MKV to iPhone 4S recognizable video format, you can enjoy the movies leisurely.

Thanks the features outlined above, the iPhone 4S is arguably the most impressive multimedia smartphone out there. Although competing manufacturers are offering increasingly impressive smartphones, the leading position of iPhone 4S still remains unrivalled, for now at least.

Will Nokia N8 Conquer Samsung Galaxy S?

It is a long time since the two smartphones-Nokia N8 and Samsung Galaxy S came into the market, The Nokia N8 has been proving itself to be a major contender and has won a couple of big phone fights already. But will it win over the leading smartphone-The Samsung Galaxy S? as Samsung Galaxy S being one of the best Android handsets, it’s really a tough task for the N8 to beat it. Below let see some comparisons between these two phones.

1. Appearance
The Nokia N8 and the Samsung Galaxy S are both touchscreen-only devices with excellent workmanship. The Samsung Galaxy S wows you and is extremely thin at just 0.39 inches (9.9 mm), compared to the Nokia N8's 0.51 inches (12.9 mm).The Nokia N8 is crafted from a single sheet of anodized aluminum, giving it a certain amount of heft, while the Samsung Galaxy S is made from plastic, making it lightweight, lighter and less rigid thаn metal.

2. Display
The Samsung Galaxy S sports a 480x800 pixel Super AMOLED display, while the Nokia N8 phones in with a regular AMOLED display with a 360x640 pixel resolution. Thanks to the Super AMOLED tech, the Galaxy S delivers incredibly high-contrast ratio, great viewing angles and better visibility in direct sunlight. Still, Nokia has done a great job, and the display is decent outside.

3. Performance:
As far as performance goes, the N8’s core uses a 680MHz ARM 11 chip, while the Galaxy S uses a ARM Cortex A8 processor, rated at 1GHz. The Nokia N8 uses Symbian, while the Galaxy S runs Android 2.1. The major disadvantage for the Nokia N8 and all Symbian phones is the uncertainty of Symbian’s future. Whereas Google’s Android is gobbling up market share like a pack of hungry, hippos, Symbian is on a steep decline.

4. Navigation and User Interface:
Both of these mobile operating systems are excellent smartphone platforms, with mobile web browsing, pinch to zoom, navigation and maps, excellent keyboards and multitasking. However, Android tends to do this with a little bit more finesse and eye candy. Nokia’s Symbian platform is functional, but Android is just more touch-friendly and easy to use.

5. Camera:
First up, the N8’s 12.0 Megapixel camera features with Carl Zeiss optics, a Xenon flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, face/smile detection, plus 720p HD video capture and editing. It has a max resolution of 4290 x 2800 pixels. For video calls, there’s also a second, front-mounted camera.
Unfortunately for the Galaxy S, it boasts a poorer specification, namely a 5.0 Megapixel camera with autofocus, geo-tagging, touch to focus functionality, face and smile detection and HD video recording. No LED flash either, Xenon or otherwise. The maximum resolution of the camera is 2592 x 1944 pixels.

6. Video Playback:
Speaking of video playback, both handsets support a large number of formats, including DivX/Xvid, and the chipsets are powerful enough to play HD resolutions without notable issues. The big, vivid screen of the Samsung Galaxy S definitely has the upper hand for watching videos on the go. You may not want to waste the large number of online videos since you have this powerful Samsung Galaxy S. As the world’s most famous website, it is not surprised that YouTube comes to your first choice to watch videos. But as a portable device, it still has the limitation of video and audio formats. For people who want to enjoy online videos on it, but when you are out for a journey, internet connectivity will be a barrier for you to enjoy online videos. Here I suggest a third party software-YouTube Downloader, which is fit for users to accelerate and download YouTube to Samsung Galaxy S as well as Nokia N8 and watch YouTube videos on the go.

7.Battery life:
Juiced up to full capacity, Nokia claims 12.0 hours of talktime for the N8, compared to 6.55 hours for the Galaxy S. Standby times are 390 hours and 576 hours respectively. The Galaxy S loses this one.

Nokia and Samsung are two of the top handset manufacturers worldwide. So now that we've compared the two companies' flagship smartphones, it seems like both offerings are worth your while. Again, it is up to you to decide which features you need the most, but either way you'll end up owning one helluva smarphone.

Nexus 7 VS iPad- Seven comparisons

After carefully experiencing the performances of Nexus 7 for three days I summarized the following 7 important comparisons with iPad. Nexus 7 may have some shortcomings that we can not ignore, but just the right size and low price will definitely help Google to grab a lot of users who do not need iPad necessarily. For example, if iPad is a wealthy daughter that needs special care and support, then Nexus 7 is the girl next door that can do everything for you with cordial and generous temperament but lacks a few glamorous beauties.

1. Shape-the body of Nexus 7 tablet PC mainly adopts plastic material, whose positive appearance is common, and doesn’t look very upscale. But when holding the black cover in hand, you will feel comfortable and soft. You do not need to pay too much attention to the appearance protection as much as iPad. Without putting up membrane to the tablet PC, you will barely see any scratches. On the contrary, for the iPad, if it is not armed to the teeth, the back will definitely has scratches.

2. Portability-The size of Nexus 7 is 7 inches which is suitable enough for carrying. Programmers can put it into the back pockets of their jeans, and female sales can easily put it into the satchels. What’s more, it will not be too garish when you take it out in public, so it is common when people use it in the subway and at restaurants. However the application range of iPad will be confined to bedroom and cabin.

3. A good tool for reading-a lot of people feel that it is a good tool for reading at their first sight of Nexus 7, so do I. But Google’s own books, newspapers and magazines shops almost have no Chinese content and do not support font scaling method. Fortunately the number of polymerization reading softwares suitable for lightweight reading is enough on the Android platform now. Getting up early to download offline news and some passionate MP3 into the tablet PC, you will feel happy when enjoying the music and reading the news in crowded subway. Of course the reading experience of Nexus 7 is not as that good as iPad.

4. On camera-For the Tablet PC and mobile phone, camera is not just a shooting tool, but the input device. Nexus 7 has no rear camera, which can not scan the barcode and 2D code and can not use most AR (Amplified Reality) applications.

5. Comfortability on visiting the websites-the result of 7-inch screen with 1280 x 800 resolutions is that the word is too small. Many sites have made iPad home page based on the iPad user's touch operation habits, but few websites have optimized the Android. So the experience of browsing the web by using the Nexus 7 is less good than that of iPad.

6. Presentation and sharing features- iPad’s large screen and rich accessories make it possible for iPad to have enough possibility in the presentation and sharing. But the Nexus 7’s 7-inch screen is not big enough for meeting show and multiplayer games. If Google can develop a few expansion accessories which are capable of projecting the Nexus 7 content onto the TV screen in the bedroom, it will be much better.

7. Video playback-The built-in player of Nexus 7 only supports MKV and MP4 format, Nexus 7 is suitable for 720P video playback but has pressure in palying1080P video which is in MOV format. We know that iPad mainly supports MP4 video. Considering the fact that both Nexus 7 and iPad has limited video format supporting system, a useful video converter which can easily convert videos among all popular video formats is necessary.

“Which tablet PC is suitable for me?” It is all up to you to decide and choose the most suitable tablet PC. Do you want to cozy on the couch watching the micro blogger, or listen to music and read news in the subway on the way to work? Which one do you prefer?
