Os: When it comes to operating system, The Xperia Tablet Z is equipped with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and Nexus 10 carrys the lattest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. An update to Android 4.2 is apparently in the works for Sony's device, however, currently the Nexus 10 is at a slight advantage as Android 4.2 is a bit quicker and has some extra features and interface tweaks which are quite beneficial.

Network: The Google Nexus 10 completely disappoints as it does not have a provision for a SIM card which sadly means no 3G/4G LTE, but Sony Xperia Tablet Z has definitely hit it out of the park with provision for a microSim, enabling the device to use 3G and 4G LTE to its advantage.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z Globally Launched at MWC 2013: Release Price Confirmed

Earlier this year, the company launched the Sony Xperia Tablet Z in Japan itself. Now, at Mobile World Congress, Sony announced its world debut. Priced at upwards of $499 in USA, it will have to face a bigger fight with Apple iPad and Microsoft's Surface RT.

                         

Stuffed with a 10-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 display, 2GB of RAM, 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad Core processor, an 8-mega pixel rear camera and 2.2-mega pixel camera on the rear, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (confirmed by the manufacturer), and lastly ability to play around in harsh conditions as the device comes with waterproof and dust resistant capabilities. When you put DVD movies to Xperia Tablet Z, every image is crisp and vivid, thus it would not let you down performing like a multimedia entertainment tool.

In order to have the spotlight on an already-crowded 10-inch tablet market, Sony is betting on a case that it’s only 6.9 mm thin, making Xperia Tablet Z in the thinnest tablet in the world. Promoted as a premium tablet, Sony Xperia Tablet Z will have a price tag matching Apple’s iPad 4: $499 for the 16 GB model, and $599 for the 32 GB variant. Sony has announced some good news in that the Sony Xperia Tablet Z will be coming to the global market in the second quarter of this year. The second quarter of course encompasses April, May and June which means we will see a release by the end of June. The Xperia Z tablet will allegedly feature a 10.1-inch, 1920×1200 Full HD touchscreen, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, an 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE, and 6,000 mAh battery, according to the Xperia Info Twitter account. The Xperia Z tablet seems to make sense as a complement to the Xperia Z handset.

A fresh set of leaks have emerged on the Xperia Tablet Z detailing specifications of the Android-powered tablet. The tablet not just looks similar to its younger Xperia Z sibling but has more or less the same specifications as well.

1. Sony Xperia Tablet Z will feature a 10.1 inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080).

2. The Sony tablet will be made robust by a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor and 2GB of RAM. Users will enjoy a 32GB of internal storage.

3. Tablet Z will reportedly run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upon launch, and it will make use of a 6,000 mAh battery.

4. The tablet will reportedly have an 8.1MP rear camera and a 2.2MP front camera.

5. Tablet Z will look like a big Sony Xperia X design-wise. This tablet will also be waterproof and dustproof like its smartphone sibling.

The specs for the Xperia Z tablet are unconfirmed, but do sound believable, given the internals of the handset and the need for a tablet update.
